Broken heart<\/li>\n  <li>We don\u2019t experience reality; we experience our representation of reality: We have emotional reactions to however we represent our world<\/li>\n  <li>Metaphor is a way of transferring understanding by taking something that we already understand and attaching it to a new idea<br>\n    Cf. Jesus Christ<\/li>\n  <li>We have to be selective in the metaphors that we utilize<\/li>\n  <li>Is \/ Like \/ As<br>\n    Cf. \u201cWhat is life like?\u201d<br>\n    Cf. \u201cI\u2019m blacking out.\u201d<\/li>\n  <li>We oftentimes make metaphors as if they are real. They are just figures of speech. We respond to them like they are real. <br>\n    \u201dI\u2019m at the end of the rope.\u201d \u2192 Put the rope down and walk away<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Whenever we have a pattern of looking at the world, or making things up in our heads, we do something radical to interrupt that pattern, and keep interrupting it, pretty soon we can\u2019t get back into it. Anytime you find you constructed your world in a way that creates limitations, interrupt it, and replace with power, with something loving, fun. <\/em><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n  <li>Be flexible in using metaphors: What you\u2019re doing isn\u2019t working, change your metaphors. <br>\n    Cf. Stonecutter: Just because you\u2019re not getting feedback you want initially doesn\u2019t mean that you\u2019re making progress.<\/li>\n  <li>Whether people know or not, they\u2019ve got metaphors for themselves<\/li>\n  <li>Consciously select your own metaphors<br>\n    Cf. Success coach<br>\n    Cf. PIE Trucking Service<\/li>\n  <li>Anytime you hear a metaphor that creates limits, just step in and offer a new one. Offer a new possibility. Break a pattern and give him a new choice including yourself.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Write down:<\/em><\/p>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n  <li>What is life? Write all of them down. <br>\n    If life is this, then what does it mean to me?<\/li>\n  <li>All the metaphors that you link to relationship or marriage<br>\n    Take a look at those metaphors. Are they empowering or disempowering?<\/li>\n  <li>Take another area of life that impacts you most. Cf. What is learning for yourself?<\/li>\n  <li>Create new ones that you\u2019ve never thought of before and decide you\u2019re gonna live those for the next 30 days.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Unconscious system for evaluating what things mean and what we should do<\/h3>\n<p><em>It\u2019s determining our actions every day, therefore our destiny. <\/em><\/p>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n  <li>State that you\u2019re in mentally and emotionally<\/li>\n  <li>Questions you ask yourself: \u201cHow can I turn this around?\u201d \u201cHow can I utilize this experience to make my life greater?\u201d<\/li>\n  <li>Values<\/li>\n  <li>Belief systems: All of these preconceived notions that we developed within ourselves are filtering our experience of life on a daily basis<\/li>\n  <li>References (experiences of your life)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>a) &nbsp; Conscious experience<\/p>\n<p>b) &nbsp; Unconscious experience (filtered inside your brain)<\/p>\n<p>Giant file box in your brain with everything that you\u2019ve seen, heard, tasted, touched, smelled is all stored<\/p>\n<p>Organized references: Beliefs (feeling of certainty about what something means)<\/p>\n<p>Cf. \u201cI believe I\u2019m really intelligent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>References: Legs of belief<br>\n  Cf. \u201cI\u2019m sexy:\u201d We can take references for virtually anything, then make them back up any idea we want. <br>\n  <strong>Our references are shaping our life. Most of us are not paying attention to how we are interpreting references much less focusing on how we get the references we need in order to success and achieve our goals<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Your imagination is a source of references: Anyone who\u2019s created anything had to create a sense of certainty within themselves if they could achieve that they go (?)<\/p>\n<p>Cf. Columbus<\/p>\n<p><strong>Your imagination is 10 times more powerful than your willpower. &nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cf. Lee Iacocca<\/p>\n<p>Cf. Akio Morita: He focused in his mind on what he wanted things to be right and he believed with absolute faith and certainty his vision (?).<\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n  <li>Because you haven\u2019t done something doesn\u2019t mean that you can\u2019t.<\/li>\n  <li>Because you try something and fail again and again doesn\u2019t mean the next time you won\u2019t succeed.<\/li>\n  <li>The past does not equal the future.<\/li>\n  <li>It\u2019s never too late to have a happy childhood.<\/li>\n  <li>Whatever you\u2019re feeling is what you\u2019re focusing on.<\/li>\n  <li>You can borrow references of other people. <br>\n    Cf. Les Mis\u00e9rables<\/li>\n  <li>Limited references create limited life. <br>\n    Cf. Joe Fritz\u2019s (?) widow: \u201cEveryday we gotta live to our fullest together.\u201d<\/li>\n  <li>References are not real: they are only what you\u2019ve focused on. What you pull from them is what\u2019s gonna shape your life.<\/li>\n  <li>If you take events of today, and put meaning on them immediately, you may be prejudging. Maybe your bad days aren\u2019t so bad after all.<\/li>\n  <li>Loss is imaginary. Everything in the universe only changes form. Nothing ever disappears. \u201cEven though I don\u2019t know what this has happened, I\u2019m willing to trust. Someday I will. I\u2019m willing to trust my creator.\u201d \u2212 leap of faith. Cf. Billy Joel \u201c<span style=\"background: yellow;\">God\u2019s delays are not God\u2019s denials.<\/span>\u201d Cf. Mr. Morita<\/li>\n  <li>You\u2019re gonna have good days and you\u2019re gonna have bad days. You\u2019re not gonna know which ones they really are until much later in your life.<\/li>\n  <li>Look for beliefs that empower you. \u201cWhat would I have to believe in order to feel this way?\u201d Awareness alone can be curative.<\/li>\n  <li>False Evidence that Appears Real<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Expand your life by expanding your references.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Negative thinking, if you look at it positively, can also create. <\/em><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n  <li>Giving up is the ultimate danger.<\/li>\n  <li>The power of positive thinking: The ability to generate a feeling of certainty in yourself when nothing in your environment supports you.<\/li>\n  <li>Learn to create certainty in the face of fear.<\/li>\n  <li>Out of fear, most people constantly focus on the worst that could happen.<\/li>\n  <li>\u201cGetting excited, really going for it equals pain. I\u2019d better not even try.\u201d<\/li>\n  <li>What we think about daily is what\u2019s determining how we feel, what actions we take and therefore, each day what we think about is shaping our destiny.<\/li>\n  <li>Friends can poison you.<\/li>\n  <li>We\u2019ve gotta watch our minds. Gravity is constant; negativity is constant.<\/li>\n  <li>You want to find a problem in somebody you care about, you\u2019ll find it. <span style=\"background: yellow;\">\u201cAsk and you shall receive, seek and you shall find.\u201d<\/span><\/li>\n  <li>Be \u201crealistic.\u201d = Be negative.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Step #1 in Life<\/h3>\n<p>See life as it is.<\/p>\n<h3>Step #2<\/h3>\n<p>See it better than it is.<\/p>\n<h3>Step #3<\/h3>\n<p>Make it the way you want it.<\/p>\n<h1>5 steps to utilize the power of positive thinking and use negative thinking in an assignment.<\/h1>\n<h2>Step 1<\/h2>\n<h3>Focus on what\u2019s right instead of what\u2019s wrong<\/h3>\n<h3>Focus on what you do have instead of what you don\u2019t have<\/h3>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n  <li>Make it a habit; habits form the chain of your ultimate character<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n  <li>Go on a mental diet<\/li>\n  <li>\u201cSeven Day Mental Diet\u201d<\/li>\n  <li>Immediately focus on something good<\/li>\n  <li>Immediately do not allow yourself to hold a negative feeling and a negative thought for 7 straight days<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp; Be positive about solutions instead of problems<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp; Notice what\u2019s great about a situation<\/p>\n<h2>Step 2<\/h2>\n<h3>Decide to become curious about others instead of judgmental<\/h3>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n  <li>If you judge other people, you\u2019re judging yourself intensely<\/li>\n  <li>If you\u2019re angry with other people, you\u2019re angry with yourself<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n  <li>\u201cHe was without sin; let him cast the first stone.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp; Free yourself from the disease of making others wrong and free yourself from the disease of making yourself wrong<\/p>\n<h2>Step 3<\/h2>\n<h3>Find something to appreciate from any seemingly negative person or situation and develop the habit of giving compliments<\/h3>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n  <li>Toughest times in your life sometimes provide you with the real resources to change your life<\/li>\n  <li>Appreciate where we are right now<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n  <li>Seeing what you don\u2019t have is sometimes useful, too<\/li>\n  <li>Appreciate what isn\u2019t working<\/li>\n  <li>Balance between positive and negative thinking on human scale: 98% of the times positive; 2% critical in thinking<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Step 4<\/h2>\n<h3>Decide not to be perfect<\/h3>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n  <li>Instead of being negative and beating yourself: \u201cHere\u2019s another example of me sabotaging myself,\u201c decide what you do want<\/li>\n  <li>\u201cI\u2019m not perfect, but I\u2019m good.\u201d<\/li>\n  <li>\u201cAs soon as I notice I\u2019m not on track, I correct it and I get better.\u201d<\/li>\n  <li><span style=\"background: yellow;\">Your goal each is to get better, not to be perfect.<\/span><\/li>\n  <li>If you don\u2019t make a catastrophe, it\u2019s easier to bounce right back up<\/li>\n  <li>Only way to fail is if you quit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Step 5<\/h2>\n<h3>Decide to develop the habit of using \u2018faith\u2019<\/h3>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n  <li>Create certainty inside yourself<\/li>\n  <li>I\u2019m going to have courage to overcome my fears and to take actions<\/li>\n  <li>\u201cYou have made it this far.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp; Faith is your ultimate power<\/p>\n<h3>Information X Focus = Personal Reality<\/h3>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n  <li>Garbage in; garbage out<\/li>\n  <li>Bad news sells<\/li>\n  <li>Nay saying is not new<br>\n    Cf. Walt Disney got turned down 302 bankers<br>\n    Cf. Rain man<\/li>\n  <li>A person\u2019s reality is completely controlled by the information that you have available to you and you have focused upon<\/li>\n  <li>Pursue the quality information that would nourish your life<\/li>\n  <li>Learn to trust your instinct<br>\n    Cf. John Templeton<\/li>\n  <li>There\u2019s a price for going with the flow, and that price is the pain of giving up your dreams and taking the fall of those who failed to think for themselves (?) must\u2019ve been an inevitable experience.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>It\u2019s not what happens. It\u2019s what you do with what happens in your life that shapes your life.<\/h2>\n<h1>Power of Identity<\/h1>\n<p><strong>We\u2019ll behave consistent with our identity even if our identity is negative<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Who are you?<\/h3>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n  <li>Your beliefs control your behavior. Cf. frog &amp; scorpion<\/li>\n  <li>Your behavior is consistent with your identity even if the identity is negative.<\/li>\n  <li>Be careful with the label that you create for yourself or you allow others to give you<\/li>\n  <li>In our culture, consistency is constantly rewarded: tends to walk you into whatever identity that you used to have<\/li>\n  <li>The level of thinking that has gotten you where you are is not what is going to get us to where we want to go<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Consciously define yourself<\/h3>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n  <li>Once you define them that way, nothing is going to change your opinion; once you put that label upon yourself, your future behavior and therefore the results of your life will be colored by it. Cf. Korean war<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n  <li>In your gut, who are you?\n    <ul type=\"circle\">\n      <li>Are you a leader or are you a follower?<\/li>\n      <li>Are you a person that makes a difference or are you a victim?<\/li>\n      <li>Are you someone who constantly tries to figure out how to grow or are you somebody who is constantly looking for an excuse?<\/li>\n      <li>Are you merely a collection of \u201chave-it\u201d patterns or something deeper, something richer?<\/li>\n      <li>Are you merely your past or who you\u2019re defining it now?<\/li>\n    <\/ul>\n  <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n  <li>Those elements that you use to describe yourself with conviction = identity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n  <li>Start with how you already define yourself<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>1) &nbsp; Job, role<\/p>\n<p>2) &nbsp; Emotion<\/p>\n<p>3) &nbsp; Occupation<\/p>\n<p>4) &nbsp; Metaphor<\/p>\n<p>5) &nbsp; Feedback from the past<\/p>\n<p>6) &nbsp; Spiritual beliefs<\/p>\n<p>7) &nbsp; Looks<\/p>\n<p>8) &nbsp; Accomplishments<\/p>\n<p>9) &nbsp; Future<\/p>\n<p><strong>Essence of your life<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Write who you are, describe yourself to yourself<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n  <li>Most are not conscious about what our beliefs are about who we are<\/li>\n  <li>If we get conscious about our beliefs, take a real good look, we\u2019re merely start seeing what the limitations are in our beliefs, and we\u2019ll also see some of the benefits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>How would you be if you\u2019re already living your dream?<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Go out and do some of the things that the person like this would do<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Ritual<\/h3>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n  <li>You gotta such a conviction about who you are that nobody can sway you<\/li>\n  <li>You know who you are inside regardless whether you are going to get results or not in the short term<br>\n    Cf. Kunta Kinte, Bar Mitzvah, Bat Mitzvah<\/li>\n  <li>Think of what would be a nice ritual for you<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Your life is defined by your beliefs, your convictions of who you are; your perception of who you are. That is what\u2019s gotta change.<\/h3>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n  <li>Find out first what you\u2019ve been believing about yourself<br>\n    You can find references to back up the idea that anybody is a good person or anybody is a bad person.<\/li>\n  <li>Begin to question those limiting beliefs<br>\n    \u201dAm I my past or am I who I decide to be now?\u201d You\u2019re cut out for whatever you decided to be cut out for<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Emotions are the ultimate power<\/h2>\n<h3>How do you deal with your emotions right now?<\/h3>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n  <li>Avoid them<br>\n    If you are always trying to avoid rejection, you\u2019re never going to succeed<br>\n    Ultimate fear of rejection keeps people out of relationships<br>\n    You can\u2019t ever avoid completely negative rejections, and they cause us to grow<\/li>\n  <li>Endure it (but deny it)<br>\n    This erupts<\/li>\n  <li>Use it for competition<\/li>\n  <li>Learn from them, and utilize them<br>\n    You feel loved because you choose at that moment to create those feelings within yourself. You have some rules, some criteria that say when XYZ happens, then I get to feel loved.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>What we feel is not based on our experience, but again on our interpretation of our experience<\/h3>\n<ul type=\"disc\">\n  <li>When we don\u2019t follow our own rules, don\u2019t live by our own values, by own life standards, we certainly give ourselves pain as a way to keep ourselves on track<\/li>\n  <li>Negative emotions are a signal that a change is needed.<\/li>\n  <li><span style=\"background: yellow;\">A signal of fear is you must prepare.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Every emotion has a message for you.<\/h3>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n  <li>Identify what the emotion is<\/li>\n  <li>Acknowledge and appreciate the message it\u2019s offering you<\/li>\n  <li>Get curious about what it\u2019s offering you<\/li>\n  <li>Get yourself to feel reassured by seeing \u201cHey, you\u2019ve worked this out in the past. You\u2019ve made it through this before.\u201d<\/li>\n  <li>Get yourself certain that you can handle anything like it in the future by rehearsing using this emotion as empowerment<\/li>\n  <li>Take action and change all your life<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Take and create a model for each category of emotion<\/h3>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n  <li>Uncomfortable: boredom, impatient, uneasy, distressed, mildly embarrassed<\/li>\n  <li>Fear: concern, apprehension, worry, anxiety, scared, terrified<\/li>\n  <li>Hurt: Comes from a sense of loss<\/li>\n  <li>Anger: mildly irritated, angry, livid, resentful, furious, enraged<\/li>\n  <li>Frustration: held back or hindered<\/li>\n  <li>Disappointment: sad, defeated as a result of something you expect but didn\u2019t work out very well<\/li>\n  <li>Guilt &amp; regret<\/li>\n  <li>Inadequacy: less man, unworthy<\/li>\n  <li>Overloaded: overwhelmed, hopeless, depressed<\/li>\n  <li>Lonely: \u201cseparate from\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>How would you feel if you know you can instantly get out of that feeling no matter how intense that event?<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>To master your emotion<\/h3>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n  <li>Identify the signal: Figure out which one of these categories does it go into<br>\n    Get down to the core emotion that really is controlling you<br>\n    Action signals: reevaluate the way you are perceiving something or the way you are preceding, the way you communicate your feelings to other people or the way you are behaving around other people or situation<br>\n    Cf. Rejection<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>1) &nbsp; Uncomfortable<\/p>\n<p>2) &nbsp; Change your state<\/p>\n<p>3) &nbsp; Clarify what you want<\/p>\n<p>4) &nbsp; Take action in that direction: Communicate your desire or do something that expresses it<\/p>\n<p>5) &nbsp; Make sure you do something until you achieve what you want and you\u2019re no longer uncomfortable<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"center\"><em>Or<\/em><\/p>\n<p>1) &nbsp; Hurt<\/p>\n<p>2) &nbsp; There is expectation that you have has not been met: A sense of loss<\/p>\n<p>3) &nbsp; Clarify what has to be changed<\/p>\n<p>4) &nbsp; Negative emotion \u2192 action signal<\/p>\n<p>a) &nbsp; Perception: Do we have some rules that are inappropriate in this situation?<\/p>\n<p>b) &nbsp; Procedure: Change the way you communicate; the way you\u2019re behaving<\/p>\n<p>Cf. <span style=\"background: yellow;\">If you ignore signal a message, one of these action signals: hurt, fearful, angry, frustrated, disappointed, overloaded, that signal intensifies<\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\" type=\"1\">\n  <li>Appreciate the message. Respect that emotion<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Message 10 Signals Give You<\/h3>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n  <li>Uncomfortable<\/li>\n  <li>Change your state<\/li>\n  <li>Clarify what you want<\/li>\n  <li>Take action in the direction of what you want<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n  <li>Fear: concern, apprehension, worry, anxiety, scared, frightened, terrified<\/li>\n  <li>Prepare yourself to deal with something or avoid the negative consequences of something that\u2019s coming up<br>\n    Cf. <span style=\"background: yellow;\">fear of failure: valuable fear<\/span><br>\n    Cf. IRS, speech<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"center\"><em>Or<\/em><\/p>\n<p>As prepared as you can get: Have some faith<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\" type=\"1\">\n  <li>Change your perception<\/li>\n  <li>Decide to become confident to focus on it working instead of not working<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n  <li>Hurt<\/li>\n  <li>Your expectation has not been met<\/li>\n  <li>Evaluate if it really is a loss here<\/li>\n  <li>Change your way to communicate your needs or your behavior<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n  <li>Anger: irritation, livid, furious, enraged, resentful<\/li>\n  <li>Your important rule has been violated by someone else or even you<\/li>\n  <li>Communicate that\u2019s only your rule but you need their help: Change the way you\u2019re communicating; change your procedure<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"center\"><em>Or<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Anger is usually an outward (?) hurt<\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\" type=\"1\">\n  <li>You\u2019ve got a lot of hurt built up that you haven\u2019t expressed them<\/li>\n  <li>Change your perception: Maybe the person wasn\u2019t trying to hurt you at all<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"center\"><em>Or<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Change procedure: communicate better what your real needs are<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\" align=\"center\"><em>Or<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Change you<\/p>\n<p><strong>Anger: You need to clarify what your rules are and get them to meet them or you need to compromise them possibly. Those are just your standards<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n  <li>Frustration<\/li>\n  <li>Change your approach to achieving your goals: Be flexible in the situation<br>\n    Cf. Insanity: tempting to getting a new result by doing the same thing over and over again<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n  <li>Disappointment<\/li>\n  <li>Maybe you want something to happen in too short a period of time; come up with more appropriate outcome for the time that you have involved and the people that you have involved and the situation that you have involved<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol type=\"1\">\n  <li>Guilt \/ regret<\/li>\n  <li>Guilt serves you if you hear the message: You have violated one of your own standards; you must do something immediately to ensure you\u2019re not going to violate again in the future<br>\n    If you deny the guilt &amp; don\u2019t get the message, the guilt is gonna come back<br>\n    If you surrender the guilt, you\u2019ll feel inferior for the rest of your life<\/li>\n  <li>Identify the signal: \u201cI\u2019m feeling regret \/ guilt.\u201d<\/li>\n  <li>Appreciate the message: You need to change your perception \/ procedure or change your future behavior \/ way to communicate<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><em>Utilize it.
